Bowflex Blaze Home Gym (Picture 2)

The Bowflex Blaze offers a great value with all the basics you need to succeed.

Multiple Machines in One Device
The Blaze home gym is similar to having a whole resistance training gym tucked right into your home. Bowflex's lat tower with angled lat bar helps build back and shoulder muscles quickly, and the lower pulley/squat station enables you to do squats and build your glutes, hamstrings and quads. In addition, the Blaze is equipped with a leg extension/leg curl attachment that helps develop strong, muscular legs, and the sliding seat rail allows you to perform aerobic rowing and leg presses to improve your cardiovascular health. And instead of different handles for every exercise, Bowflex has designed triple-function handgrips and ankle cuffs with multiple cable/pulley positions that encourage custom workouts. But if custom workouts isn't your cup of tea, Bowflex also includes a workout placard that steps you through the famous Bowflex 20-minute workout.

Manufacturer's Warranty
Five-year limited warranty on commercial quality construction and lifetime warranty on Power Rods.

Height Issues. Ratings: 4 Stars
Overall I am enjoying this equipment. I used a gym and personal trainer for some time a few years ago and did great. But time wasted on travel and using the locker room helped me to quit. My body's hunger to do something drove me to try a Bowflex. And I'm glad I did. This machine takes up a lot of room. I found that I am only so motivated (like many people even if they won't admit to it). The first time I folded this up and moved it out of the way, I ignored it for 1 1/2 weeks. So if you are honest with yourself and realize your motivation is questionable, make sure you have room to keep it down.
These are my issues. But I have 2 complaints with the Bowflex Blaze. First, when folded up the Lat Bar does not rest on its mountings, so it likes to fall when moving the machine. Second, I am 6-4 and due to the limits of the cables and bench there are a couple of exercises I can't do properly. These include Any Lying exercise (Lying Leg Extension, Resisted Reverse Crunch, etc) and Overhead exercises that begin at the Chest Bar Pulley (French Press and Seated Shoulder Press). This is not a deal breaker though since there are many other exercises that will work these same muscles, just not from that angle.
And I agree that the Power Rods do not seem to meet their advertised resistances. But that would only matter if you switch between the Bowflex and free weights. If the Bowflex is your only weight training machine then it really doesn't matter because you will still make gains and increase your workouts.

Bowflex Blaze, an excellent choice. Ratings: 5 Stars
I'm 6'2", 260 lbs, 27 years old and a pretty strong guy. I ordered the Bowflex Blaze gym with the 310 lbs upgrade. My typical workout is a tone-building, fat-burning workout, which entails 10-12 reps in 4 sets. Since I started working out with this machine about 3 weeks ago, I can tell a significant difference in the shape of my biceps, triceps, thighs, and chest. I work out 3 times per week and about 40 minutes per workout early in the morning.
Overall, the Blaze contains more than enough workouts to benefit me. Actually, there are other workouts that I do that are not advertised in the workout booklet that comes with the Blaze. The Blaze folds up quite nicely. It is not small enough to fit under a normal bed, but nonetheless, it stays out of the way if it is folded.
If you want to build a massive amount of muscle and play Tennessee Volunteer football, then you need to join a gym, take creatine, make sure someone is spotting you, and lift like you have never lifted before. But if you want to burn fat/tone muscle or build a modest amount of muscle, then get the Blaze.
The only downside to the blaze with the 310 lbs attachment is that when I do squats, 310 lbs is not enough. It is not a big deal because I'm only trying to tone my thighs, which requires a lower weight.
All in all, I'm very happy with the blaze and this is a good tool to use to become a healthier person.

Amazing product, quick shipping! Ratings: 5 Stars
Once set up, this Bowflex works wonders. I can't see why anyone would need the more expensive one. It is a good idea however to get the added weights for it because 210 pounds isn't much for even a 115 pound woman to press with her legs on this machine (it is very smooth and allows for easy movements). The shipping was super quick too. The setup time was pretty lengthy though, taking about 1.5 - 2 hrs total, and you really need to get the hang of switching the equipment to do the next exercise fairly quickly (for the first little bit I would have to look up the next exercise and figure out how to switch the equipment over to do it, and by then my heart rate went back down etc.).
A definite buy though, I use it almost every day and going to the gym just doesn't compare anymore! (except for cardio).

Strong Choice. Ratings: 4 Stars
Once delivered and assembled, my family was ready to start a program that they could individualize for themselves. Assemble was easy, but time-comsuming--thank goodness it was raining. The instructions were easy to read and understand. Not going to the gym every day or every other day not only saves time, it saves gas $$--so we save $80 a month on gym membership and about the same on gas. Also no excuses for not working out. We love it--our daughter can customize her workout around her pregnancy, my husband can work his upper body one day and lower the next, and I can do a whole body workout every other day. Best choice we ever made.

Good and easy. 4
My teenage grandson is thrilled that he can do his weight training at home. His high school only has free weights and no program. This model has everything he wants, and he can move it if necessary. We would have preferred to have the more sophisticated model, but this is a great machine for the price.
