The Ultimate XTLU home gym offers you all the basic exercises that you require.

Get serious about your strength training at home with the Bowflex Ultimate home gym, which includes everything you need to keep fit and build up muscles in your own home. It comes standard with 310 pounds of real Power Rod resistance (which is upgradeable to 410 pounds with optional additional Power Rods). The Ultimate includes a lat tower with an angled bar to help you build back and shoulder muscles, a low pulley/squat station for building glutes, hamstrings, and quads, and a leg extension/curl station for developing muscular legs. The adjustable pulley system is designed to change your angle of resistance to help increase the effectiveness of many upper body exercises. It also offers a smooth, built-in rowing machine. When you're done with the workout, the Ultimate folds down and can be rolled away via its integrated wheels.

The Ultimate utilizes Bowflex's patented Power Rods, which provide resistance, or weight, that feels as good as or better than free weights--but without the inertia or risk of joint pain usually associated with free weights. You can hook one, two, three, four or all of your Power Rod units to the cable pulley system and go from as little as 5 pounds all the way up to 310 pounds of resistance.

They're precisely manufactured from a high-tech composite material under the highest quality control measures, then sheathed and tested 4 separate times to ensure quality and durability. The Power Rod units are so strong, you can flex them repeatedly but you won't be able to wear them out. In fact, they're so strong, Bowflex backs them with its No-Time-Limit Warranty free replacement offer.

Customer Reviews

Good product. Ratings: 4 Stars
Pros:
1) Lighter weight (compare to others that uses actual weight)
2) It works from upper body to lower body (bench to squad)

Cons:
1) Since it uses bows, I do not feel much of negative weight (It has some negative weight)

Conclusion:
Since lots of sports stores carry bowflex nowadays, go there try it first. It is almost effective as GYM (My body is less sored than GYM). Saving me a time to go to GYM and I work out more. It's worth money (I bought a use one - paid much less).

Make Sure You Have The Time. Ratings: 4 Stars
Though once this piece of exercise equipment is built, it's everything the advertisements, from print to infomercial, declare. However, somewhere, I swear, I read it takes only 45 minutes to put together and just taking the parts from the 5 large boxes took well over an hour. Further, the actual installation took over two days; and I'd like to think my buddy and myself are pretty good at these things. However, as I said, once put together, this is one solid, helpful piece of excercise equipment. One more thing, be sure you have the space for it once assembled. It really is a large piece of equipment, both vertically and horizontally. Good Luck!

It worked for this ol' guy. Ratings: 5 Stars
OK, I'm not THAT old (51) but I was starting to feel that way. One day I woke up and realized I was 25 pounds overweight. Add to that my rising blood pressure and poor lung capacity and you get the average guy in his 50's. As I wathched the Bowflex infomercial I just said to my wife "I've had it!" I went out and got one that weekend. Well, with the help of Bowflex and the accompanying diet info I lost the 25 pounds and have kept it off for almost 2 years now. In addition, I got into good enough shape that last year my wife and I bought bicycles for Christmas and have had a great time riding on weekends.

My blood pressure dropped and I can easily wear 34 waist pants again! I have had to buy new clothes but it's $ well spent. Take my word for it, dieting alone will not do it. Get a Bowflex, follow the diet plan, and use the machine... You WILL succeed! Oh, one more thing. Be warned. As the pounds drop off, be prepared for lots of comments. Some folks will be complimentary but other nay-sayers will try to drag you down by saying things like you're losing too much weight. It sure is nice to be complimented at my age.
