Known as a tasty companion to Miso soup and Sushi, there are a lot of benefits to eating seaweed. Most Asian dishes have seaweed as a condiment or part of the meal. Seaweed is an algae or a plant-like organism from the sea, that is rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.
Here are a few benefits of eating seaweed or including seaweed in your daily diet.
There are many types of seaweed and most of them are edible, however due to the pollution on our oceans some seaweed varieties have been tainted or contain arsenic, aluminum etc. Which can be deadly when consumed in large amounts. Though I don’t usually eat seaweed on my regular diet, I usually include it once a month.
But seaweeds are rich in fiber and is a low sodium, low calorie alternative to table salt. Many types of seaweed have as much protein and amino acids compared to beef, it is also rich in fiber which aids in digestion can also prevent chronic conditions such as heart disease and cancer.
Seaweed are rich in vitamins and minerals such as vitamins A and E, B vitamins, calcium, magnesium, potassium, copper, iron, and iodine. Also a good source of omega-3s and polyphenols.

Making the seaweed soup is so simple but so tasty also the ingredients are also simple even without a recipe you can indeed make this delicious, healthy soup. You need a clove of garlic, 2 teaspoons of sesame oil, 1/4 kilo of beef (cut into strips), a cup of dried seaweed (soaked in water), fish sauce (according to your taste but 1-2 teaspoon is enough).
Now the cooking process is also simple, saute the garlic and beef with the sesame oil, add 2 cups of water and add the fish sauce (Make sure it’s not too salty, just enough as the dried seaweed will definitely make it salty) and bring it to boil add another 4 cups of water and the seaweed once it boils you’re ready to eat!
