Health Benefits of Honey

Honey most commonly used as a sweetener but did you know that honey also has medicinal properties and has health benefits. It’s known as liquid gold and we’ll tell you why.
If we have honey at home, it gets immediately used up, I use it on my tea and coffee. The reason why bacon tastes good is because of honey, and that is why honey is a natural sweetener which is nutritious and full of antioxidants and that is why it’s becoming a trend and replacing sugar as the go-to sweetener.
2. Contains Antioxidants
Honey is rich in antioxidants which competes with most fruits and vegetables with the number of antioxidants and benefits it gives your body. Antioxidants help protect our body from cell damage, even lessens the possibility of heart disease and cancer, and helps slow down aging by countering the free radicals that cause those.
3. Has Medicinal properties
When used as a home remedy, it can soothe a sore throat, and if mixed with ginger and tea and taken as a hot drink it works best if you have a cough/cold, if you feel sick and it also helps in digestion. In some cases, it can also be used to treat a wound (there is a specific honey -medical grade honey not the normal honey you buy at the store).
4. A great relief from allergies
I have food allergies so I can say that this works for me. But research shows that honey can’t be used as a remedy for allergies. Or quite possibly, it depends on what allergy you have.
